How do I nominate Village Green Pharmacy for my NHS prescriptions?

Simply fill in our online nomination form — it takes under 2 minutes and is completely free. Once nominated, your GP sends your prescriptions directly to us electronically and we prepare them for collection or send them out by free local delivery.

Can I change my nominated pharmacy?

Yes, you can change your nominated pharmacy at any time. You can do this online, through your GP surgery or by asking us directly.

How do I request a repeat prescription?

Use our online repeat prescription request form. We will forward your request to your GP who will issue the prescription electronically. Please allow 2–3 working days, though timing depends on your GP.

Do you deliver prescriptions?

Yes — all NHS prescription deliveries are completely free of charge to all of our delivery areas.

What areas do you deliver to?

We deliver free to every address within roughly five miles of the pharmacy — Acocks Green, Yardley, South Yardley, Tyseley, Sparkhill, Hall Green, Olton, Solihull, Shirley and Sheldon. Can I collect my prescription in store?

We are a community pharmacy — you're welcome to pop in and collect, or use our free local delivery if you can't get to us (free within 5 miles of the pharmacy).

What is Pharmacy First?

Pharmacy First is an NHS service that allows you to get treatment for 7 common conditions directly from our pharmacist without needing a GP appointment. It is free to eligible patients.

Which conditions does Pharmacy First cover?

Infected insect bites, impetigo, shingles, sinusitis, sore throat and urinary tract infections (women aged 16–64 only) — assessed by video or phone consultation.

Do I need an appointment for Pharmacy First?

No appointment is needed — just call us or request a callback and our pharmacist will assess you by video or phone. Use our online eligibility checker on the Pharmacy First page to see if you qualify before visiting.

Is Pharmacy First free?

Yes, Pharmacy First is a fully funded NHS service. There is no charge for the consultation or any medicines provided.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Saturday 9am–9pm and Sunday 10am–8pm. We are open seven days a week, until late every night.

Village Green Pharmacy is on Warwick Road in Acocks Green, a short distance from Yardley, and we deliver NHS prescriptions to Yardley and South Yardley addresses free of charge.

There is no delivery fee, no minimum order and no subscription. Our own drivers make the deliveries.

You do not need to live next door to us

Plenty of our patients use a pharmacy that is not the nearest one to their house — because it opens later, because the delivery suits them, or simply because they prefer the service.
